Teachers may find themselves delivering subjects to students whilst not holding basic qualifications. In Food Technology, for instance, a Basic Food Hygiene (now called a Level 2 Food Safety) Certificate should be held by everyone involved in teaching and requires renewal every three years.

Because we understand the financial pressures on schools, we facilitate Inset ‘Clusters’ so that teachers from a number of schools in an area can share the costs of a specialized Inset Course.

Food safety

Ensure all of your Food Technology teachers, TA’s, and others associated with food have current Food Hygiene certificates. Our 1-day accredited course can be presented to up to 20 people – that’s enough for the largest school to host an inset day course and still have places available to offer to other local schools.

Health & Safety

Never far from the news, Health and Safety is essentially a practical discipline. With this one-day accredited course, we remind teachers of the legal framework in which they meet their obligations in keeping children and other teachers safe, and practical approaches to making it happen. 

Nutrition

Essential for any staff teaching food or personal welfare-related subjects, this 1-day accredited course will give greater confidence in teaching how food intake and nutrition relates to health and well-being.

Risk assessment

Avoid the fear and uncertainty surrounding due diligence in relation to children. Especially relevant in assessing unusual and uncertain situations (such as school trips) this 1-day accredited course will give you the tools you need to undertake a practical and realistic risk assessment. This course is also available a half-day format.
